NEWS: Aircraft training range to be active, noisy

August 27, 2013
Wisconsin National Guard Public Affairs Office

Aircraft activity will increase at Hardwood Air to Ground Bombing and Gunnery Range near Finley, Wis., Wednesday (Aug. 28) afternoon and evening. Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force-owned F-16 and B-1 aircraft will drop inert training munitions on the range beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing as late as 12:30 a.m. Aug. 29 in support of training missions.

While local residents may be used to the presence of F-16 aircraft, the B-1 may generate more noise than area residents are accustomed to. For aircraft noise complaints, call 1-800-972-8672. For media queries, call Master Sgt. Mike Mullenberg with Volk Field Public Affairs at 608-427-1011.
