WASHINGTON (Sept. 12, 2013) Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel speaks with the Cmdr. Thomas Dickinson, commanding officer of the guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) to express his gratitude to sailors serving in the eastern Mediterranean Sea on the anniversary of 9/11. The exercise and a recent port visit by three People's Liberation Army-Navy ships at Pearl Harbor is part of the U.S. Navy's ongoing effort to maximize opportunities for developing relationships with foreign navies.
