HAGEL EMPHASIZES DEPARTMENT'S RESOLVE IN SUICIDE PREVENTION

WASHINGTON (9/3/13) - As the nation observes Suicide Prevention Month, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel issued a message to the men and women of the Defense Department today, emphasizing the department's collective resolve in its efforts to prevent military suicides.

FOREST SERVICE ENDS AIR NATIONAL GUARD FIREFIGHTING ACTIVATION FOR NOW

BOISE, Idaho (9/5/13) - The U.S. Forest Service, through the National Interagency Fire Center here, has decided to end current military C-130 Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System operations as of the end of the day today.

DELAWARE NATIONAL GUARD SENIOR LEADERS VISIT REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (9/4/13) - Senior leaders from the Delaware National Guard visited the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; Delaware’s state partner. The visit was a goodwill mission, building and growing the existing partnership. The trip included visits to the Embassy and the various training bases of the Defence Forces.

FINANCES AFFECT SERVICE MEMBERS' READINESS, OFFICIAL SAYS

CALIFORNIA AIR GUARD MEMBERS HELP RE-DO LATVIAN HIGH SCHOOL

ALUKSNE, Latvia (9/6/13) - Forty members of the 163rd Reconnaissance Wing Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) deployed to Latvia in August to refurbish a high school in the town of Aluksne about 13 miles from Latvia's border with Russia.

ILLINOIS AND WISCONSIN SOLDIERS VOLUNTEER TO DIG FOR INFANT'S REMAINS

ZION, Ill. (9/4/13) - The Army values were on display Aug. 25 when Citizen-Soldiers from the Wisconsin and Illinois National Guard volunteered their time to search for the remains of a murdered five-month-old child in a landfill here.

HAWAII NATIONAL GUARD AIR DEFENSE EXPERTS SHARE WITH PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE PARTNERS
