D.C. NATIONAL GUARD PROVIDES SUPPORT DURING 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF 'MARCH ON WASHINGTON'
WASHINGTON (8/27/13) - Thousands of marchers from throughout the country descended on the National Mall to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the famous Civil Rights March on Washington, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, Aug. 24.

HURRICANE KATRINA, EIGHT YEARS LATER: FORMER GUARD CHIEF REFLECTS ON THE GUARD'S ‘FINEST HOUR’

CALIFORNIA GUARD DEPLOYS PREDATOR TO SUPPORT FIREFIGHTERS

N.D. AIR NATIONAL GUARD ENDS FLYING MISSION, TRANSITIONS TO INTELLIGENCE MISSION
FARGO, N.D. (8/28/13) - The North Dakota Air National Guard's last C-21A Learjet aircraft has left the base. The last of eight C-21s flown by the 119th Wing-better known as the Happy Hooligans- took off just after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday ending 66 years of flying history.

PA. GUARD BEGINS PLANNING FOR EXERCISE VIGILANT GUARD, LITHUANIAN COUNTERPARTS SCHEDULED TO PARTICIPATE
FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. (8/29/13) - The Pennsylvania National Guard has been preparing to take part in Vigilant Guard, a training exercise that sees Guard members working alongside state, local and federal first responders in a simulated disaster scenario.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (8/28/2013) - Air Force Col. Ondra Berry- a member of the Nevada Air National Guard and special advisor for diversity and equal opportunity to Army Gen. Frank Grass, the chief of the National Guard Bureau-knows firsthand a great deal about both adversity and diversity. His personal and military career experiences have combined to give him the foundation to become a champion of leadership and diversity in his current position, and throughout his career.

TEXAS AIR GUARD ENGINEERS TRAIN WITH NORWEGIAN MILITARY ACADEMY CADETS
RYGGE AIR STATION, Norway (8/27/13) - About 50 U.S. airmen assigned to the 149th Civil Engineering Squadron, a subordinate unit of the Texas Air National Guard's 149th Fighter Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, Texas, recently trained with Royal Norwegian military cadets on construction projects here, near Moss, and in Oslo, Norway.
