A DC-3 coastal survey airplane from Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) visited 4th Fleet headquarters Aug. 20, for a capabilities demonstration prior to a scheduled deployment to the Caribbean Sea and Central America. It was all about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Ignore the kites, the robots, the balsa wood or molded foam vehicles, the model rockets and hot air balloons -- it was all about STEM. Yeah, right. Only if STEM and kids is another name for fun.
