The revised First Term Success Workshop (FTSW) has been posted on Navy Knowledge Online under the Personal Development tab on the Navy Counselor page. To complete this fleet-wide training requirement, commands must download and use the new version, and then document FTSW completions in Fleet Training Management and Planning System (FLTMPS).

DoD announced its plan to extend benefits to same-sex spouses of uniformed service members and DoD civilian employees. Spousal and family benefits will be available no later than Sept. 3, regardless of sexual orientation, as long as service member-sponsors provide a valid marriage certificate. The Center for Security Forces announced that Criminal Investigator is now open for enrollment for those who are already performing CI duties. During their apprenticeship, service members document their military duties while working in their rating or military occupational specialty. The Navy announced the establishment of the newest Sexual Assault Prevention and Response initiative, the Victims' Legal Counsel Program, which will provide legal advice and advocacy for eligible victims of sexual assault. Initially, the VLC Program will consist of 29 specially-trained, independent judge advocates assigned regionally. For more information, visit www.sapr.navy.mil.
