DILI, Timor-Leste (Aug. 27, 2013) Sailors from the Timor-Leste Defense Force practice shipboard fire-fighting techniques alongside U.S. Navy Sailors aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Denver (LPD 9). Denver is on patrol with the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, commanded by Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 11, and is participating in Exercise Koolendong with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. Pilots complete 1,000th trap aboard USS Nimitz.

GULF OF OMAN (Aug. 28, 2013) Capt. Rob Osterhoudt, deputy commander of Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11, left, and Cmdr. Robert Loughran, commanding officer of the Argonauts of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 147, congratulate each other aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) upon each completing their 1,000th carrier arrested landing, or "trap". OKINAWA, Japan (Aug. 24, 2013) Equipment Operator 2nd Class Jennifer Harris, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3, carries a bag of seaweed during a friendship exchange at Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa, White Beach Naval Facility. More than 80 volunteers from NMCB-3, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa cleaned up trash and enjoyed a barbeque during the day-long event.
