Pacific Partnership 2013 Commemorates the 71st Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal Pacific Partnership 2013 leadership, crew members and partner-nation service members joined with international dignitaries near the historic battle site, "Bloody Ridge," to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal, Aug 7. USS Gettysburg Hosts Ambassador to France Guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64) hosted United States Ambassador to France and Monaco Charles Rivkin Aug. 6 during a port visit to Marseille, France.
