San Luis, Ariz. - A Mexican national was arrested yesterday following a failed attempt to smuggle nearly 13 pounds of meth into the United States through the Port of San Luis.Customs and Border Protection officers referred Gustavo Rocha Castro, 21, of San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, for inspection of his Kia sedan. Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents working in Eagle Pass seized more than 7 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated value of more than $100,000.On Tuesday, agents from the Eagle Pass South Station were conducting immigration checkpoint operations on Highway 57 when they encountered a commercial travel van, containing several passengers, en route to San Antonio. Nogales, Ariz. - A Mexican national was arrested yesterday at the Port of Nogales for attempting to smuggle nearly 65 pounds of cocaine into the United States.U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Gaston Delacruz Arriaga-Barrigan, 61,of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico for additional inspection of his Chevrolet sedan when he attempted to cross the border.
