Laguna Beach, Calif. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Air and Marine (OAM) marine interdiction agents and air interdiction agents coordinated an early morning operation today stopping a panga boat off the Calif. coastline filled with bales of marijuana worth more than four million dollars. San Luis, Ariz. - A Wellton, Ariz., man is in custody after a failed attempt to smuggle more than 11 pounds of meth into the United States through the Port of San Luis on Friday.Customs and Border Protection officers referred Juan Ramon Luna, 39, for inspection of his Chevrolet sedan when he attempted to enter the United States after a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs. Philadelphia - Apparently the mushrooms didn't pack enough magic to keep a Philadelphia man from tripping off to jail.U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested Gregory Corbin, Jr., 34, at Philadelphia International Airport Sunday for possessing nearly 73 grams of psilocin mushrooms and a little more than half a gram of marijuana that he brought back from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Santa Teresa, New Mexico - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers working at the Santa Teresa port of entry seized 113 pounds of marijuana Monday. In an unusual twist the drugs were found in a vehicle that was attempting to exit the United States. (more)

Columbus, N. M. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers working at the Columbus port of entry seized 177 pounds of marijuana Monday night. The estimated street value of the seized contraband is $141,600."Smugglers went to considerable lengths to conceal this drug load," said Columbus Port Director Robert Reza. (more)

Nogales, Ariz. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers were busy this past weekend with drug seizures at the port of Nogales. Seizures of cocaine and heroin with a combined weight of more than 62 pounds were seized from smugglers attempting to enter the United States. (more)

Del Rio, Texas - CBP officers at the Del port of entry arrested a Del Rio man Friday morning after finding weapons and ammunition hidden in his car.Around 8 a.m. Friday, CBP officers and U.S. Border Patrol agents, observing traffic leaving the United States bound for Mexico, inspected a 2007 Kia Spectra, driven by a 65-year-old Del Rio man.
