(more) 08/02/2013 06:00 PM EDT Calexico, Calif. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Calexico, Calif. downtown port of entry arrested two Mexican citizens after discovering approximately $450,000 worth of methamphetamine concealed within their vehicle. The incident occurred July 31, at about 11:30 a. (more) 08/02/2013 06:00 PM EDT El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection agriculture specialists working at the El Paso, Texas port of entry made an unusual seizure recently. They discovered seven live plants concealed in packages wrapped like a burrito.The seizure was made July 25 at the Paso Del Norte international crossing. (more) 08/02/2013 06:00 PM EDT El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the El Paso port of entry seized 17.3 pounds of cocaine in one enforcement action Wednesday. The drugs have an estimated street value of $553,600. CBP officers also seized 290 pounds of marijuana in three additional drug seizures July 31. The event promotes education and fosters community relations. Tohono O'odham families came out to the Sells District Office with their children to celebrate the upcoming school year and participate in summer festivities. (more) 08/02/2013 06:00 PM EDT Tucson, Ariz. - During the month of July, Arizona Border Patrol agents apprehended several convicted sex offenders and one individual with an outstanding warrant for sex-related crimes. Among the list of charges and convictions for the adult Mexican nationals apprehended are "sexual penetration of a child with an animate object, aggravated sexual battery of a victim under age 13, and aggravated criminal sexual assault with bodily harm.
