Public and Private Sector Colleagues:
On behalf of the Department of Homeland Security, we remind you to participate in the ongoing Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR). New material has just been posted on both the Communities of Practice and IdeaScale websites. Innovative ideas are now being discussed on topics such as public-private partnerships, including a recap of some of the key themes from the US Chamber of Commerce QHSR Public-Private Partnerships forum; the flow of goods and people; and DHS’s roles and missions.
As a recap, the Second QHSR will:
- Apply a strategic, risk-based approach to homeland security by using a rigorous, data-driven analytic approach throughout
- Learn from the past to help plan for the future, reviewing current risks and threats, how they have evolved, and what we are likely to face in the next four years
- Maximize impact by focusing on topics identified through a detailed assessment of key risks and insights developed about those risks
- Help create One DHS that works together even more efficiently
- Engage the entire homeland security enterprise on how we can best work together to strengthen partnerships that improve security and resilience and strengthen our economy
We encourage you to provide feedback throughout the multiple rounds of postings related to the QHSR study topics, insights about risks and threats, and homeland security goals.
Best regards,
FEMA Private Sector Division
