Mary David, a flood survivor in Eagle, Alaska knows the true value of mitigation. After spring floods in 2009, Mary relocated her home out of harm's way with help from FEMA's mitigation program. In 2013, Eagle flooded again, and Mary's was undamaged.

National Disaster Medical System/Disaster Medical Assistance Team
Multiple DMAT teams representing 10 U.S. states trained at the CDP this week. More than 50 people from a variety of DMATs came together in a single location, and participated in the first pilot NDMS course.
