Implementation of the Supreme Court Ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act
On Monday, July 1, 2013, Secretary Napolitano released a statement in response to the Supreme Court’s United States v. Windsor decision invalidating part of the Defense of Marriage Act. The Department has also released Frequently Asked Questions related to the decision that you may find helpful.
