At approximately 6:30 a.m., agents encountered a 34-year-old male Mexican national driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse as it arrived at the checkpoint. (more) 07/18/2013 12:26 PM EDT West Palm Beach, Fla. - On December 20, 2012, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the West Palm Beach station arrested Renado Shavar Smith, a citizen of the Bahamas, after he smuggled migrants from the Bahamas into the United States in a vessel. Smith pled guilty in federal court on March 15, for violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1324(a)(2)(B)(ii), Alien Smuggling for Financial Gain. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Victor Alfonso Payan-Beltran, 29, of San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, for inspection of his Nissan sedan when he attempted to enter the U. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Armando Gonzalez Barajas, 33, for an additional inspection of his Chrysler sedan when he attempted to cross the border.
