Pine Valley, Calif. - U.S. Border Patrol agents intercepted a crystal meth smuggling attempt at the Pine Valley checkpoint early Monday morning. At approximately 6:30 a.m., agents encountered a 34-year-old male Mexican national driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse as it arrived at the checkpoint. (more)

Salton City, Calif. - On Wednesday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio Station arrested a suspected narcotics smuggler and seized more than 39 pounds of methamphetamine concealed in a compartment within his vehicle.The incident occurred at approximately 5 a. (more)

West Palm Beach, Fla. - On December 20, 2012, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the West Palm Beach station arrested Renado Shavar Smith, a citizen of the Bahamas, after he smuggled migrants from the Bahamas into the United States in a vessel. Smith pled guilty in federal court on March 15, for violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1324(a)(2)(B)(ii), Alien Smuggling for Financial Gain. (more)

San Luis, Ariz. - A Mexican national is in custody in connection with a failed attempt to smuggle more than 12 pounds of meth into the United States through the Port of San Luis on Monday. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Victor Alfonso Payan-Beltran, 29, of San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, for inspection of his Nissan sedan when he attempted to enter the U. Nogales, Ariz. - A Rio Rico man was arrested Monday at the Port of Nogales for attempting to smuggle nearly 27 pounds of cocaine into the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred Armando Gonzalez Barajas, 33, for an additional inspection of his Chrysler sedan when he attempted to cross the border. (more)
