September 9, 2013 National Professional Development Symposium: Call for Presenters and Workshops Good Day Folks! We have at hand another great opportunity to plan and present the First National Professional Development Symposium. The dates are set for the week of June 8-15, 2014. The site will be here at the NETC in Emmitsburg MD. We will begin the application process in February. Be sure to apply early - BUT PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS UNTIL YOU GET YOUR ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM ADMISSIONS! If you will recall this is the collaborative effort wherein Training Resources and Data Exchange (TRADE) and the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) groups are bringing standardized professional development to discussion. Professional development is built on the four pillars of our vocation: Experience, Training, Education and Designation/Certification. I am respectfully announcing a call for presentations and workshops regarding this foundation. The NPDI Steering committee will begin building the agenda soon, so now is a good time to your suggestions for presenters and workshops forward. We are looking for presentations regarding fire training, EMS training, Fire prevention/EMS/Instructor and general Professional Development areas. Our goal is to provide a final agenda before school begins again in January.
